Community Volunteer Day

Four volunteer smile while potting plants in the Arboretum Nursery

Event Date

Location
Arboretum Teaching Nursery

Join us for a volunteer day!

Volunteer days are a great way to give back, meet other members of the community who enjoy volunteering and gardening, and experience the therapeutic effects of spending time in nature.  No prior gardening experience is needed to participate, and everyone over the age of 18 is welcome regardless of your affiliation with UC Davis.

Event details

Our August Volunteer Day will take place from 8:30 to 11 am on Saturday, August 8. We will spend the first part of the morning collecting and sowing seeds of native plants to grow more plants for Arboretum collections and the second part of the morning weeding around the Arboretum's teaching nursery (big bonus: this area is nice and shady!).

Meeting Location

We will be meeting at the Arboretum Teaching Nursery on Garrod Drive. Parking on campus is free on the weekends and there is a small parking lot right in front of the teaching nursery, as well as a larger lot, the Putah Creek Lodge parking lot, a short distance away. There is ample bike parking outside of Scrubs cafe
